Vacant House and Frozen Pipes in Falcon Heights
The extended cold season weakened some interior plumbing in this vacant Falcon Heights home. The clean water that spurt from the ruptured pipe covered the oak hardwood flooring with about an inch of water. Luckily, it was discovered with a few days, and SERVPRO came out to extract the pooling water. The Before Photo shows the cupping that resulted from the wood expanding from the water. Our crew slowly dried out these planks over about a week to return them to a flat surface. We can monitor the drying to ensure we do not splinter the boards requiring removal and replacement. We always try to return to preloss condition water damaged building materials and contents rather than replacing them.
