Lauderdale Mold and Water Damage
The moisture accumulated from a small leak in the shower supply pipe and the broken exhaust fan in this Lauderdale bathroom. But the storm allowed rainwater to enter through the roof to exacerbate the damage further. The inevitable conclusion--extensive damage from mold and weakened walls from water wicking--meant a controlled demolition, as shown in the After Photo. We dispose of the damaged tiles and building materials following local dumping codes and bag the debris to prevent cross-contamination during the removal process. We set up air scrubbers to capture airborne mold spores and particles and spray an antifungal chemical on all the exposed framing and wall voids prior to installing new sheetrock.
